Reality tv star and actress Tamera Mowry-Housley was attacked last night for her "alleged" political beliefs on Twitter causing her husband to attack back and defend her honor. And then things turned racial. Get the deets on what happened inside....
It all started last night as the very pregnant actress Tamera Mowry-Housley spoke on the 2012 Vice Presidential Debate and Rt'd a follower who said that it was hard to watch because of the candidates constantly interrupting each other. Well.....you would have thought that she pulled a Stacey Dash as folks on Twitter jumped ALL over her.
Folks on Twitter assumed that because Tamera's husband is White and works at FOX News, that it meant she was attacking Biden and voting for Mitt Romney...and they weren't happy. As hate tweets flowed in, Tamera tweeted:
Her husband Adam wasn't about to sit around and let her be attacked on Twitter so he jumped in the mix saying,
But this isn't the first time Tamera has been attacked regarding Adam as she revealed during a recent interview with ZAP 2 It. She said,
"There were certain Websites who were saying horrible things about the fact that we're an interracial couple. It's like, really? About that? it's 2012 -- at that time, it was 2011.
"We didn't even know the people. It was just a site that allows people to comment on a picture. ... More than one person was saying cruel things. So, we got it from both sides, and it's like, 'Oooh, that's weird.'"
But Tamera has been developing a thick skin when it comes to the critiques on her marriage. And she says she's had to deal with many outside opinions due to her hit reality show "Tia & Tamera." She said,
"Doing a reality show, you're open for the world to see. People are open to judge, and you're open to judging. As an actress, they're judging your talent; they're judging how you play your role. Whereas this, they're judging you as a human being. Fortunately, with our show, we have more positive than negative."
You can catch her and sister Tia when "Tia & Tamera" returns to the Style Network on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Also, she'll star in the Gospel Music Channel movie, "Christmas Angel," premiering Dec. 1.

Kile Glover, 11, remains hospitalized after suffering traumatic head injury.

<P><MTVNLINK type="artist" id="1270">Usher</MTVNLINK>'s stepson, 11-year-old Kile Glover, remains in the hospital after suffering a traumatic head injury during a <a href="/news/articles/1689261/usher-kyle-glover-jet-ski-jeffrey-s-hubbard.jhtml">jet-ski accident</a> last weekend. Glover, the son of Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster, was <a href="/news/articles/1689206/ushers-stepson-declared-brain-dead-after-jet-ski-accident.jhtml">pronounced brain dead</a> on Sunday, but his family has issued a statement, saying that they are keeping positive thoughts and asking for prayers.</P><P>"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," the family told <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/10/showbiz/usher-stepson-injured/index.html" target="_blank">CNN</a> in a statement. "We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."</P><P>According to CNN, Glover's family has already held a vigil for him at the hospital, and Usher visited the 11-year-old the morning after he was admitted to the hospital. The two had reportedly grown close during the R&B singer's two-year marriage to Foster.</P><P>The accident took place on Friday (July 6) when Glover and a second victim, a 15-year-old girl, were struck by a jet-ski while floating on an inner tube in Atlanta's Lake Lanier. Both children were airlifted to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston pediatric hospital. The girl is reported to have suffered from a cut on the head and a broken arm, while Glover took the brunt of the trauma to his head.</P><P>The man driving the jet ski has been identified as 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard, a family friend. At this time the police have determined that no drugs were involved, and no charges are being pressed. On Sunday TMZ reported that Glover was declared brain dead when doctors determined that he had not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted to the hospital on Friday.</P><P>Friends of Usher and his ex-wife have sent their well-wishes to the family via Twitter. "Wishing @TamekaRaymond's son godspeed recovery. horrible news to hear," Roots drummer Questlove tweeted, while Jermaine Dupri added, "Lifers! pls say a prayer for man Ryan, Tameka, Usher and the Glover family."</P>

Perry was photographed in his ride wearing a little white lace dress, with <a href="/news/articles/1690408/katy-perry-hair-black.jhtml">her hair short and black</a>. As for Mayer, he was sporting an army jacket and black T-shirt. The site adds that this might be the two singers' second chance at love with one another: They allegedly first met right before the 2009 VMAs, but Perry ended up falling for the show's host, Russell Brand.</P><P>With Perry/Mayer's romantic status is still to be determined, in the <a href="/news/articles/1690961/katy-perry-elle-magazine.jhtml">September issue of <i>Elle</i></a>, Perry opens up about finding love and marriage again after her divorce from Brand. <P>Unless you just woke up from a coma after taking an interstellar trip on the Prometheus spaceship you probably noticed that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/adele/artist.jhtml">Adele</a> has been killing it on the charts this year. In fact, at the mid-way point of 2012, according to Nielsen SoundScan the singer's unstoppable <a href="/news/articles/1687277/adele-21-number-one-billboard-charts.jhtml"><I>21</I></a>
, which came out in the beginning of 2011, is the best seller of 2012 so far.</P><P>Through the sales week ending on July 1, Nielsen SoundScan reports that the disc has sold 3.69 million copies, making it the only disc this year that has sold more than one million. Wayyyy behind is the year's surprise #2, veteran R&B singer Lionel Richie's country duets album <I>Tuskegee</I> (912,000), followed closely by One Direction's <I>Up All Night</I> (899,000), a greatest hits collection from the late Whitney Houston (818,000) and the <I>NOW 41</I> hits compilation (714,000).</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="One Direction - "What Makes You Beautiful"" isvevo="true" isrc="GB1101100318" id="vid:731798" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Rounding out the top 10: Carrie Underwood, <I>Blown Away</I> (602,000), Luke Bryan, <I>Tailgates & Tanlines</I> (575,000), Nicki Minaj, <I>Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded</I> (557,000), Drake, <I>Take Care</I> (549,000) and Adele's debut, <I>19</I> (539,000). Both songs are record-breakers, since, according to <a href="http://www.billboard.com/news/adele-gotye-lead-mid-year-soundscan-charts-1007491562.story?utm_source=most_recent" target="_blank"><I>Billboard</I></a> no song has ever sold five million copies in the first six months of a calendar year.</P><P>With no end in sight to "Somebody"'s sales, it could become the first tune to sell six million downloads in a year. The third best selling download of 2012 so far is another inescapable tune, Carly Rae Jepsen's <a href="/news/articles/1687210/carly-rae-jepsen-call-me-maybe-unstoppable.jhtml">"Call Me Maybe,"</a>
 (4.06 million) then Kelly Clarkson's <a href="/news/articles/1689101/kelly-clarkson-stronger-best-selling-american-idol.jhtml">record-setting</a>

Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" just missed the top 10 (#11, 2.5 million), edging LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" (#12, 2.1 million), Katy Perry's "Part of Me" (#14, 2 million), Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa's "Young, Wild & Free" (#15, 2 million), Drake's "The Motto" (#18, 1.8 million) and Flo Rida's "Good Feeling" (#20, 1.7 million).</P><P>It should surprise no one that digi-phobe Jack White topped the vinyl album sales with his solo debut, <link type="content" id1684193"><I>Blunderbuss</I></link>
 (18,000), with the Key's <I>El Camino</I> just behind (17,600) and perennial album fetish object the Beatles' <I>Abbey Road</I> at #3 (15,700).</P><P>Overall music sales, which includes album and tracks, are up four percent over the same period last year with overall album sales pretty much flat. CD sales continue to account for the bulk of albums moved at 61 percent, though that's down 5 percent from 2011, as digital album sales were up 14 percent, putting them on a pace to set new sales records by year's end.</P>

Singer will film live music video for 'I Was Here' to support campaign.

<P>Last week, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a> posted a <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/07/26/beyonce-posts-mysterious-announcement-wipes-hard-drives-when-she-leaves-studio/">mysterious message</a> on her website that simply read, "Leave your footprint on 19 August 2012."</P><P>The cryptic note had many fans wondering just what Queen B might be up to come mid-August. Well, the answer is here, and Beyoncé not only wants her Beyhive to leave their footprint that day, but she'll also be doing the same.</P><P><iframe width="415" height="233" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yPPBKyIceWY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></P><P>The superstar has joined forces with the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations for World Humanitarian Day on August 19. It is "a global day to celebrate humanity and the spirit of people helping people," according to a press release.</P><P>The VMA-nominated singer will be in New York City for the big celebration, along with her "I Was Here" songwriter, Diane Warren. The ladies will be on hand at the U.N. General Assembly Hall to film a live music video for the <i>4</i> ballad that they will then donate to the cause. It will be released that same day.</P><P>Beyoncé appears in a black-and-white PSA for the campaign. A close-up of her face, sporting the <a href="/news/articles/1689944/beyonce-baby-blue-ivy.jhtml">braids she debuted a few weeks back</a>, shows her outdoors. "It's high time we rise together," she says. "Do one thing for another human being — nothing is too small. It begins with each of us. Make your mark and say 'I was here.' " Also including footage of people across the world, the message closes out with the track playing and the diva saying, "One day, one message, 1 billion taking action for each other. I'll see you then."</P><P>The <a href="http://www.whd-iwashere.org" target="_blank">World Humanitarian Day website</a> launched this week allows folks to post the "individual acts of good" they have done in their communities. By the day of the event, they hope to reach 1 billion people with a single message. Communities will do their part through commemorations and public events.</P><P>"We all see the headlines, and we think, 'What can I really do to help?' " Beyoncé said in a statement. "World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care."</P>

Nearly 740,000 votes were cast across the five categories (hip-hop, R&B, EDM, rock and pop) resulting in a winners' list led by both fan-favorite veteran acts and relative newcomers.</P><P>So who took home the gold in our Summer Jam Games? Peta2 is bestowing awards including Most Animal-Friendly Pop/Hip-Hop Artist to celebs for their support of animal rights.

<P>PETA's youth division, peta2, is giving props to celebs like <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a> and "Glee" star Lea Michele at this year's <a href="http://features.peta2.com/libby-awards-2011/?utm_campaign=1211%20Libbys%20Nominees%20Press%20Pitches&utm_source=peta2%20Pitch&utm_medium=Media#PeopleAndMusic" target="_blank">Libby Awards</a> for their efforts in support of animal rights.</P><P>The Biebs, who appeared in a <a href="/news/articles/1656302/justin-bieber-peta-ad.jhtml">campaign</a> for the organization at the top of the year using Bieber-fied catch-phrases like "My world includes passion for animals, yours should too" and "Animals can make u smile. Adopt from your local shelter," is taking on fellow animal-loving pop star Ke$ha and rappers k-os and Waka Flocka Flame in the Most Animal-Friendly Pop/Hip-Hop Artist category. Ke$ha appeared in an ad campaigning against the slaughter of Canadian seals.</P><P>Michele, who speaks out against the mistreatment of carriage horses in New York City, faces off against "Jackass" star Steve-O, Cobra Starship's leading man and peta2's Sexiest Vegetarian Gabe Saporta, and "Victorious" star Daniella Monet in the Top Animal-Friendly Celebrity category.</P><P>The Ready Set, Tokio Hotel, Hellogoodbye and the Swellers are all up for Most Animal-Friendly Band. Ke$ha and Tokio are also up for Best peta2 ad along with Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness and Yelle.</P><P>The Libby (as in "Liberation") Awards will be decided on January 17 by fan votes as well as peta2. Voting ends December 23.</P><P>"Our nominees have all worked hard to shine their spotlights on a variety of important animal issues," peta2 Division Manager Marta Holmberg said about the nominees, which honors animal-friendly people and products. "As our accomplished stars demonstrate, compassion isn't just a virtue — it's also a road to success."</P>

'Jojo is all right. It's working itself out," Run tells MTV News.

<P>You probably didn't want to be at <MTVNLINK type="url" id="/ontv/dyn/runs_house_season_05/series.jhtml">"Run's House"</MTVNLINK> on Saturday morning. That's because on Friday night, Joseph Simmons Jr., 19, known to millions as "Jojo," was arrested on Manhattan's Upper West Side after allegedly buying marijuana and trying to run away from the cops, according to a spokesperson for the New York Police Department.</P><P>After being spotted by police allegedly purchasing marijuana and then rolling it into a joint, the aspiring rapper attempted to evade arrest by throwing his BMW in reverse, almost backing into a police cruiser. The younger Simmons, who is the leader of a rap crew called Team Blackout, struggled with police attempting to apprehend him.</P><P>The NYPD spokesperson said Simmons was booked on a felony charge of attempted reckless endangerment (for backing into the police car), two misdemeanor charges of criminal use of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest and a violation for marijuana possession.</P><P>Reverend Run, Simmons' father and the legendary co-founder of of <a href="/news/articles/1608562/metallica-run-dmc-join-legends-hall-fame.jhtml">Rock and Roll Hall of Fame trio</a> Run-DMC, called MTV News on Monday morning (May 11) with an exclusive comment on the incident. "I didn't always have this collar around my neck," Run explained. "I come from a rap, rock and roll background. Jojo is all right. It's working itself out. We're pulling together as a family going forward. You live and learn." Run also said his son was released without bail on Saturday.</P><P>The younger Simmons could not be reached for comment at press time, but <a href="http://twitter.com/YoungSimmons" target="_blank">he Tweeted</a> around 3:55 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, "I'm alright everybody!" His <a href="http://twitter.com/RevRunWisdom" target="_blank">dad Tweeted</a> early Saturday morning, "you can learn many things from your Children ... (Patience for instance)."</P><P>New York's <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2009/05/10/2009-05-10_rappers_son_springs_joint_after_pot_bust.html" target="_blank"><i>Daily News</i></a> reported on Sunday that Simmons was released on his own recognizance after a Manhattan judge dismissed the felony charge of attempted reckless endangerment.</P>

Swift's new single inspired by her personal 'break up, get back together' drama, she tells ABC News.

<P>Her brand-new <a href="http://posting.mtv.com/news/articles/1691744/taylor-swift-never-ever-get-back-together.jhtml">single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,"</a> is an amped-up kiss-off to an ex that features a big sing-along chorus, but <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/swift__taylor/artist.jhtml">Taylor Swift</a> says creating the song was actually one of the more "hilarious" experiences she's had.</P><P>In an interview set to air this fall, Swift told ABC News' <a href="http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/taylor-swift-reveals-album-red-drops-single-never-235206234--abc-news-celebrities.html" target="_blank">"Nightline"</a> that she was in the studio with producers <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/martin_max/artist.jhtml">Max Martin</a> and Johan Shellback on her upcoming album, <a href="/news/articles/1691703/taylor-swift-red-album.jhtml"><i>Red,</i></a> when the friend of an ex-boyfriend (Swift didn't want to name him) walked in.</P><P><iframe width="420" height="260" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/P6gFma4H7fA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></P><P>"[My friend] starts talking about how he's heard [my ex and I] were getting back together and that was not the case," Swift says in the teaser clip. And so I start telling them the story of 'break up, get back together, break up, get back together,' just, <i>ugh,</i> the worst."</P><P>The trio quickly realized that story had to be a song. "Max says, 'This is what we're writing; we're writing this song,' " Swift recalls. "And I picked up the guitar and just started singing 'we are never.' It just happened so fast. It was so much fun."</P><P>While the empowering message isn't new for Swift, the lead single might sound a little different to her hard-core fans, thanks to her hooking up with <i>Red</i>'s lead producer, Martin, the go-to guy for pop superstars like Britney Spears ("Hold It Against Me," "Till The World Ends"), Katy Perry ("Part of Me," "Teenage Dream") and Justin Bieber ("Beauty and the Beat").</P><P>And Martin has not only made time for mega-star Taylor. 'It was a learning experience and it hurt my feelings, but I want to apologize to everyone that was offended,' singer says.

<P>Nothing could have prepared <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/blige_mary_j/artist.jhtml">Mary J. Blige</a> for the firestorm of criticism that rained down on her in April when she appeared in a controversial Burger King ad that was panned for being tasteless. Nearly three months later, she's finally sharing her side of the story, admitting that she was "crushed" by the backlash.</P><P>The ad, intended to promote Burger King's revamped menu, found Mary on top of a table, belting out the ingredients to the Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap over the melody of her song "Don't Mind." The backlash was immediate. Hours after the ad appeared online, <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/04/03/mary-j-blige-burger-king-commercial-pulled/">Burger King pulled it</a> from their YouTube channel, later citing music-licensing issues. But it was clear from comments, tweets and Facebook posts why the clip really vanished.</P><P>In the midst of the chaos, Mary released a statement <a href="/news/articles/1682517/mary-j-blige-burger-king-ad.jhtml">apologizing for the "unfinished" ad</a>, but during a Thursday interview with NYC radio station <a href="http://www.inflexwetrust.com/2012/06/27/mary-j-blige-hits-hot-97s-the-angie-martinez-show-talks-new-artist-commercial-and-fight-at-w-i-p/" target="_blank">Hot 97</a>, she admitted how deeply the whole fiasco cut her.</P><P>"I just felt like there was no need for me to say anything, because everyone was crucifying me and going crazy," she said about remaining mum at the time. "I pulled back and watched everyone and everything, [because] it's just something that I thought would've been a great branding opportunity. I went online to listen to the remix that I did with Fat Joe, I'm looking for 'Another Round,' and all I could see is Burger King, chicken and buffoonery, and it just broke my heart.</P><P>"I understood the laughter and the jokes and the stuff that was happening — you're supposed to do that when something like that happens — but the thing that hurt me is when people were starting to say vicious, negative things that didn't have [anything] to do with that," she continued. "It exposed everyone and everything in my life and showed me who my friends are."</P><P>Mary said that a few people reached out with comforting words while she was "wanting to crawl under the bed," but she also took notice of those who tried to distance themselves from the project. "I had to go to the airport the next day, when it was hot off the press, and I just held my head up," she said. "It was a mistake and I did it because I thought it was something that wouldn't come out like that. No one had mercy, and it's cool, it was a learning experience. It hurt my feelings, it crushed me for two days, but after those two days, I got up and I kept going. I want to apologize to everyone that was offended or thought I would do something so disrespectful to our culture. I would never do anything like that purposely."</P>

<P>Before <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/snoop_dogg/artist.jhtml">Snoop Dogg</a> was able to properly transform into Snoop Lion and record his upcoming reggae album, <a href="/news/articles/1690935/snoop-dogg-dr-dre-reincarnated.jhtml"><i>Reincarnated,</i></a>the 20-year rap veteran had to first get the right inspiration.</P><P>"We was looking for the creators, some of the forefathers," Snoop told MTV News on Monday.</P><P>At the top of the list was reggae's greatest voice. "Most definitely <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/marley_bob/artist.jhtml">Bob Marley</a>, off the top, and the Wailers," he said. "Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Gregory Isaacs, Jimmy Cliff, Barres [Hammond], most definitely."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Snoop Lion Pulls Inspiration From Bob Marley, Peter Tosh" id="vid:821722" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>To record <i>Reincarnated,</i> Snoop first got a blessing from Bob Marley's son Rohan and then made a pilgrimage to Jamaica, where he formed a bond with the Niyabinghi branch of the Rastafari movement. Musically, the newly crowned Lion partnered with Diplo and Major Lazer to help with the production but kept the features to a minimum.</P><P>During a press conference Monday, Snoop excitedly explained his mission. "The spirit called me. Any time the spirit calls you, you gotta know it's serious and real," he said to a room of gathered press. "I wanna bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion."</P><P>With his transformation, the Los Angeles rap icon hopes to leave his old ways behind. Gone are songs like "Murder Was the Case"; instead, Snoop is now preaching positivity on new songs like "No Guns Allowed" and <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/07/25/snoop-dogg-releases-first-single-la-la-la-from-reggae-album/">"La La La."</a> "I always wanted to make a song that could stand for something," Snoop said.</P><P>It seems that reggae music has given the global superstar the perfect outlet. "My early memories of reggae music was always a room full of smoke and just the way you danced to it. It was seductive and sexy and it was grown, then underneath it all, it had a message to it," he said. "You can hear the message in some of the songs.
